Kenan Thompson’s Ties To Tampa Bay Real Estate

So, many of you may not know, I moved to NYC for about 1-year, back in 2010.

I had always wondered what selling real estate would be like in the Big Apple.  I worked for Halstead Realty, and discovered it’s an entirely different approach, selling properties. Everything was apartments, smaller spaces, the view, location, the doorman, elevators, and fees! What was really strange to me–more people wanted to rent than buy.

One New York plus was I made many new friends and met several celebrities like Alec Baldwin, Chris Noth, Kevin Bacon, Vanessa Williams, Carson Kressley, David Bromstad, Janice Dickinson, & Mark Wahlberg.  However, I started to miss showing larger properties with outdoor living spaces and private pools.

I couldn’t deny my love of warmer weather, driving a car, palm trees, beaches, & larger homes, so I moved back to Tampa.

Before I left, I did ask all the agents in my office to send me any Tampa Bay buyer referrals.  Shortly after my departure, Sarah, a co-worker back in NYC reached out to me.  She had a friend Christina, who had lived in St Pete in the past, and wanted a vacation home.  I thought this was a normal referral. But..

Turns out she was Kenan Thompson’s wife. I won’t lie. I was nervous and didn’t want to screw up this opportunity.  Like a referral, this could lead to more future business.

The day came and I met Kenan & Christina to show them a few homes.  She was beautiful & sweet, Kenan was quiet, kind & down to earth.  They made 2 or 3 trips to Tampa to look & we found The One!

They ended up buying a beautiful waterfront home with a pool, and I was excited that the home appraised for $100,000 over the sales price!  We celebrated a couple of times at Jackson’s for Brunch!

I visit NYC all the time, so my mom & I ended up having Brunch with Kenan & Christina, on their wedding anniversary which is 11.11.11. All in all, it was a great experience–Sarah received a referral, the Thompson’s made a great investment & I was excited to have another successful transaction!

As realtors, we have lots of different experiences. So, if you’re looking for a realtor with 35 years of experience, the good, the bad, and the ugly. Contact me today, (727) 410-8599
